Are you in need of a an oracle or a way to see the future? iapetus is pleased to announce: "The Tarot Canticles" - A Musical Revue inspired by the book The Tarot Primer by Deborah Carter Mastelotto.
Words and music by Aralee Dorough (Voyage of Blacwyd), "The Tarot Canticles" unfolds like an old fashioned radio program or stage show, taking the listener on a journey in search of intuition and strength.
Recorded in Italy in painstaking detail by master sound engineer Stefano Castagna and his son Alessandro, under the watchful ear of Markus Reuter, Aralee and her compatriots, son Corin Gatwood and husband Colin, had 6 days to bring the story of the cards to life using a variety of instrumental means.
We foresee that due to the unique nature of the Canticles, the full play list may not ever be available for preview--some mysteries best remain hidden from view until the time is right for the Querent.
One thing is certain: You will soon be receiving an important message.

Another stellar release from this long-lived ensemble. Though the King Crimson influence is obvious & that comparison unavoidable, these guys have made many great recordings that can't be categorized as 'mere copies'. The perfect balance of aggressive riffing and serene soundscapes.

If I found a magic lamp, and a genie popped out… one of my wishes would be to have these three master musicians creating in a group together. Sounds like music that comes from a planet or country that doesn’t exist, at least as far as we know. Alien space grooves, tastefully cooked up in the hot sweltering touch guitar kitchens of Trey and Markus. Is there a better drummer on the planet than Pat Mastelotto? I don’t think so. Highly recommend.
